RESCUED AND RELIEF OPERATION BY NDRF AT UZAN BAZAR GHAT

A boat capsized incident took place in Brahmaputra River near the NDRF Base IWT vessel, Uzan Bazaar ghat, Guwahati on March 26. The incident took place when two fishermen were engaged in fishing in a country-made boat and started drowning suddenly turned overturned in river Brahmaputra at approximately 700 mitre from the NDRF camp. Alert Sentry of NDRF response base observed the incident and immediately informed to the team commander accordingly. On getting intimation, a sub team of NDRF comprising of two deep divers with deep diving sets, two boats and other flood rescue & life support equipment immediately swung into action.The deep divers of NDRF demonstrated their flood Disaster Response skills and saved the two precious lives of the drowning victims. NDRF teams also provided them pre-hospital treatment. The fishermen were identified as Kabir, aged 30 years and Abdul Ali, aged 32 years. This is not the first time that alert responders of NDRF had saved the precious lives at IWT vessel.
