School principal arrested

Guwahati (Assam), Aug 18, 2018:

The police on Friday arrested James Xavier, principal of Morigaon-based St Eugene School, for allegedly not hoisting the national flag on the Independence Day on Wednesday.

According to reports, the principal was arrested based on a complaint by locals that the school authority did not hoist the tricolour, besides not following the order of the administration to fly the national flag at half-mast in honour of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
