Small Wish International's initiative to protect environment finds mass support

Amid this lockdown, Small Wish International started a nature lover’s movement called CCEP initiative (Consumer’s Commitment for Environmental Protection). Small Wish International is a non-profit organization primarily focused on developing methodologies

Right after its debut, the initiative gained momentum and received pledges from Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Sikkim, Kerala, Karnataka, and Jharkhand and continues to impel the citizens of the country to harness themselves for a global cause.

Also a prominent person, Honorable Forest Man of India, Padma Shri Jadav Payeng pledged to become an eco-friendly consumer under CCEP initiative.

As of May 31st, 12pm, The initiative reached to more than 15 thousand people in two days, pledges also started coming internationally from Sri Lanka, the United States, and Bhutan.

Minimum Carbon Footprint Lifestyle Model

After an in-depth study on environment conservation challenges in the third world countries, Sheikh Arif Ahmed has designed a Minimum Carbon Footprint Lifestyle Model to tackle environmental conservation challenges in India.

The Minimum Carbon Footprint Lifestyle Model consists of twelve different pledges/commitments that will bring about behavioral and lifestyle changes amongst the Indian Consumers to collectively reduce.

The initiative has been supported by the various insitutes and universities of the state. “We the students of TISS Guwahati will surely be pro-actively part of the larger community and follow your lead in this campaign”, said Kabithui Rongmei, President, TISS Guwahati. “We, the Post Graduate Students Union 2019-2020 of Gauhati University will be obliged to participate and co-operate in this movement to build a healthy and green environment”, said Anurag Kalyan Borgohain, President, PGSU, Gauhati University. “I appreciate the initiative of Small Wish International. And we the students of Cotton University are always with you.”- Hirak Jyoti Patowary, President, Cotton University Student Union. "We liked this initiative very much and it is a much-needed one at this time. We will be glad to be a part of this initiative and spread the word among our students so that everyone can make their best contribution”, said Jyotishpal Deka, President, Tezpur University Student’s Council. The country’s carbon footprint and to reconcile and ameliorate the bond between the consumers and nature.

  1. Recycle, reuse and make conscious decisions about my daily lifestyle choices to reduce my
    carbon footprint.
  2. Conserve water, not waste food and generate less household waste.
  3. Limit excess shopping of clothes and give preference to sustainable clothing line.
  4. Practice proper garbage disposal methods for the hygiene and well being of my locality.
  5. Avoid goods that are the products of animal cruelty and trafficking.
  6. Prefer eco-friendly products and avoid products that contain chemicals harmful to the marine
    life.
  7. Avoid supporting the businesses that degrades the environment for profits.
  8. Carry hand bags to shop groceries and beat single use plastic pollution.
  9. Practice power saving, use energy efficient appliances and wherever possible reduce fossil fuel
    usages and draw energy from renewable sources.
  10. Be attentive towards sanitation issues and discourage spitting, defecating and littering in public
    spaces and tourist places.
  11. Increase green spaces in my home and inspire my community people to increase the green
    cover of the locality.
  12. Gift a tree plant to my friends on their birthday rather than a materialist gift.

    Consumers after making a pledge and successfully integrating the conservation effort for a period of minimum of 7-10 days will declared as an eco-friendly consumer as per their pledge. Consumer may
