Special women-run polling booths to be set up this Lok Sabha election

Guwahati, March 28, 2019:

This year, to encourage women voters, special women-run polling booths will be set up to conduct polling for the Lok Sabha elections.

The Election officials will set up polling stations that will be specially maintained by the women with an aim of empowering women and increasing their participation in the electoral process.

As per reports, under the Guwahati Lok Sabha Constituency, 60 polling stations will be run by women staff including 1 presiding officer, 3 polling officers, micro observers, and security personnel.

According to officials, women are undergoing training for the conduction of polls.
