STATE REQUIRES IMPROVED JUSTICE DELIVERY SYSTEM: CM

Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said that the state requires better mechanism in its justice delivery system. He stated this in the meeting with the 15th Finance Commission today. Considering the spate of crime against women in the state, it has become very necessary to opt to better tactics for delivery  of justice.He stated that the government has already taken up with the High Court for setting up of Fast Track Courts in each district,to which the Hon’ble Chief Justice of High Court has consented to..He stated that however for this there is the need to strengthen the Prosecution Machinery. Related infrastructure like forensic laboratories require improvement to for justice to be laid at the earliest. He requested Commission for recommendations for speedy delivery of justice.

It will be interesting to see whether such a Proposal will be pondered upon the by Commission. Such a Proposal is sure to dim down the rate of ravages against women in the state
