Suspected NDFB-S cadre nabbed by Army and Police from Chirang

Kokrajhar, October 28, 2018:

Continuing the relentless operation against the National Democratic Front of Bodoland-Saraigwra(NDFB-S), a successful joint operation was conducted on night of 27 - 28 October 2018 by Chirang Army and Chirang Police resulting apprehension of one hard core cadre of the outfit.

The cadre has been identified as Danswrang Brahma alias B Dahar. According to the police the apprehended person is a 40 batch cadre of the outfit and was active since 2013. The individual was responsible of multiple extortion and kidnapping activities in Chirang and Kokrajhar districts. He was also involved in a firing incident involving Assam Police on 26 Jun 2018. Recently, he was involved in recruiting new cadres for training from Chirang.

Based on specific input by intelligence agencies, a search operation was launched by Army and Police near Dadgiri. At night the movement of suspected individual was observed and he was nabbed. On searching his belonging, a factory made pistol, live ammunition and grenade was recovered.

According to the security forces, this operation is result of high alertness level, civic action and coordinated efforts of the security forces.
