GUWAHATI: Tarun Gogoi, 3-time former Chief Minister of Assam, currently recovering from ailments, wishes the people on the occasion of Diwali, the festival of lights.
“May the festival of light Dipawali which symbolyses the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, spread peace happiness and bring prosperity to the people of Assam. Hope this festival will tie the people strongly with unity and integrity amidst diversity and shower ray of new hope, aspiration and inspiration in the days ahead,” Gogoi said in a statement.

On November 1, Gogoi had complained that he had breathing problems ,after which he was immediately shifted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of GMCH.
According to reports, Tarun Gogoi’s health has improved to some extent and now is out of danger.
Gogoi had suffered from the coronavirus and was discharged from the hospital on October 25 after testing negative.
However, his battle with the disease has been long and arduous as Gogoi has required hospitalization several times. Several times, Gogoi's oxygen levels have dipped below the "danger" level and he has been on oxygen support for a long time.
