Tezpur University students asked to vacate hostels amid COVID scare

TEZPUR: The Tezpur University authorities today asked all its post-graduate and under-graduate students to vacate their hostel rooms, in the varsity campus, on or before April 23.

However, the authorities allowed the final year post-graduate and under-graduate students to stay in their hostel rooms till April 29, following all COVID-19 protocols.

On the other hand, Ph.D. and international students have been also allowed to stay in the varsity campus until further notice.

Assam today recorded 876 fresh cases of Covid-19 and two more casualties due to the infection.

As many as 47 COVID-19 positive cases were recorded in Sonitpur district.
