BAKSA: Three persons were arrested with a huge quantity of drugs and cash in Assam's Baksa district.

Based on a specific information, a team led by Rupjyoti Kalita, Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Tamuplpur Police Station conducted a search operation in the Khandikar area of Tamulpur block of Baksa district late yesterday night and apprehended the accused persons.

The accused have been identified as --Rontu Ali (35), Minar Hussain (26), Ajijul Islam (27), all are from Baihata Chariali of in Kamrup Rural district.

They were coming from Baihata Chariali to Khandikar to buy drugs, said police.

Police recovered six containers filled with brown sugar, Rs. 160,000 in cash, syringes, four mobile phones, and a  four-wheeler without a number plate.

In order to obtain additional information in the matter the accused are being interrogated by the police.
