KOKRAJHAR: Amid the ongoing protest against the killing of the two alleged United Liberation for Bodoland (ULB) cadres in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Assam Police have arrested three cadres of the militant group and identified 14 others.
Surjeet Singh Panesar, Additional Superintendent of Police of Kokrajhar said a special operation was launched yesterday evening and successfully nabbed Daidun Brahma, a resident of Tipkai in Kokrajhar, and two others.
The other two cadres have been identified as--Ananda Narzary, alias Aabra, and Sajaram Brahma alias Ramai.
Police said arresting Brahma police also recovered a camouflage suit from his home.
Moreover, during interrogation, Brahma revealed that the militant group's newly released threatening video, which has gone viral, was shot in the Patharquery area in the Rangiya-Baksa border.

Surjeet Singh Panesar further said that around 10 cases of murder and kidnapping have been filed against ULB CNC Pranjit Basumtary who hails from Gosaigaon under Kokrajhar district.
Besides, Prinjit Basumtary, Dubri Brahma, Phunkha Brahma, Daidun Brahma, Sudem Brahma were also present during the shooting of the video.
Panesar said police have launched an investigation into the case in order to apprehend the other 14 cadres.
The two youths identified as–Jwngsar Musahary, a resident of Salguri of Patgaon, and Janak Kumar Brahma, from Parbatjhara under Kokrajhar district were gunned down by Assam Police on September 18, 2021, in Kokrajhar.
Many union bodies and parties have been demanding justice for both the youths carrying protests in several parts of BTR.
It is pertinent to mention that while Police have claimed that the two were cadres of ULB, the villagers and the militant group itself claimed that the youths were not their members.
Villagers called it a planned cold-blooded murder.
