The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made a victory in the Tiwa Autonomous Council election by winning 34 seats out of 36 seats. The party has successfully grabbed the council.
The Tiwa Aikya Mancha has not received a single seat and Assam Gana Parishad as well as Congress won one seat each.
In Morigaon, while the AGP has won from Gormari and is leading in another seat. On the other hand, Congress has won from the only seat in Kaki, Hojai.
According to reports, the BJP is not satisfied with the result of the Kaki constituency and demanded re-counting in the constituency.
The counting of the ballots for the TIWA Autonomous Council (TAC) elections started today from 8am onwards. A total of 3,08,409 votes have voted across 410 polling stations on December 17.
The polling took place in 36 Tiwa dominated constituencies comprising parts of Morigaon, Nagoan, Hojai and Kamrup (M) districts.
