Top Ulfa Leader Rupantar Axom Dead in Myanmar

Guwahati, June 5, 2019:

Top United Liberation Front of Asom - Independent (ULFA-I) leader Rupantar Axom alias Rupantar Kakati died following cardiac arrest at a camp in Myanmar on Wednesday.

According to sources, the ULFA top leadership has conveyed the message of his death to his family members.

Kakati alias Rupantar Axom hailed from Kathpar village near Sivasagar. He joined the banned outfit in 1989 and carried out several attacks. He is survived by his wife Majoni Das who is also an Ulfa cadre and a two-year old daughter.
