GUWAHATI: In yet another controversial video that has gone viral, a faculty from Unacademy can be seen calling tribal farmers “brainless.”
A video of a faculty Sidhharth Singh, in his lecture called “Mission IAS 2021 | Geography by Siddharth Sir | Biomes”, can be seen talking about the Jhum cultivation in the UPSC training video where he passes a racist comment against tribal farmers.
The faculty said that the tribal people ‘neither have brains nor property nor land documents.’

This racist comment was pointed out by netizen resulting in the deletion of the video from YouTube. However, it seems that it was too late to delete the video as the controversial part already went viral on social media.
TIPRA Chairman Pradyot Manikya pointed out the racism comment on passed by the teacher through his Facebook post and wrote, “I urge upon the Chief Ministers of different states of Northeast and other parts of India to write against this teaching which is being imparted to the students of our Country . Racism exists in this country no matter how many times we try to deny it.”
A few weeks back, A video from one of the online sessions of GradeUp – an online platform for educational courses went viral. A multiple-choice question appeared on the screen behind the teacher asking the state which identifies gamucha as one of its cultural symbols. The teacher answers it appropriately saying that it is from Assam. However, when one of the students asked him further what a gamucha is – he answered confidently that it is an animal.
