Two arrested with fake gold in Assam's Dhubri

DHUBRI: Two persons have been arrested with fake gold in Assam's Dhubri district late yesterday night.
Police arrested the duo and two pieces of suspected fake gold in Debotar Hasda, Part-l, Dhubri under Golakganj police station.
The arrested persons have been identified as--Iman Ali Sheikh from Dangir Char and Sameer Ali Sheikh resident of Baghmara.
Acting on tip-off Balajan Police arrested the duo along with two pieces of suspected fake gold weighing 807.50 grams.

According to both the accused, a man named Rupchand Ali Khan, who is a fake gold dealer, and the gold was brought in for sale by two of them as a broker.
Later, Balajan police handed over the duo along with the suspected gold as per jurisdiction it falls under Golakganj police station.
Police continue to interrogate the duo.
A case has been registered against both the accused, said Nabajit Nath, Officer In-charge Golakganj.
