Two killed by mob in Karbi Anglong on suspicion of practicing witch-craft

Two people were killed by a mob on suspicion of practicing witch-hunting in Dokmoka in Karbi Anglong district of Assam. A kangaroo court decided to punish the duo on suspicion of practicing witch-craft and awarded them death sentence.

Both the 50-year-old widow and 28-year-old man were killed by the mob and leter their bodies were burnt.

The local villagers blamed the woman after a girl died of some illness.

A teacher who tried to the mob stop was also killed by the errant mob.

Meanwhile, nine persons from the village, including three women involved in the killings, have been arrested.
