Security forces on Saturday nabbed two cadres of the Muslim Fundamental Organization (MFO) in Assam.
The two ultras fell into the net after joint operation was launched by Indian Army personnel and Chirang police based on specific intelligence about the movement of MFO cadres in Basugaon village in Chirang district of Assam.
The apprehended cadres have been identified as: Mofizul Islam and Forman Ali, both residents of Mozabari village under Sidli Police Station in Assam.
A cache of of weapon and ammunition, passports, a well as a large amount of cash, as well as some documents were seized from the ultras.
The success of this operation can be attributed of high alertness level, swift action and co-ordinated efforts of the security forces.
This can be seen as a major setback to the militant group and has dealt a severe blow to the efforts in extortion and weapon dealing in Kokrajhar & Chirang District.
This operation is expected to go a long way in providing a sense of security to the residents of Chirang district.
