Guwahati, March 7, 2019:

Pro-talk United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) leader Arabinda Rajkhowa on Thursday said he hopes a final decision on peace talks should happen with the government of India after the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

Speaking to InsideNE, Rajkhowa said, “The ULFA has been trying to figure out a political solution regarding the Assam- Bharat conflict with the government through peace talks since last nine years. We are regularly trying to solve the issue and approached the government positively. We even tried to sort it out ahead of the Lok Sabha election 2019 but unfortunately, due to some minor problems, the discussion could not take place. The trial will be made and will continue even after the elections so that a peaceful solution can be made.”

It is to be mentioned that the (ULFA) has entered into formal peace talks with the government after a 32- year- old violent insurgency movement.
