ULFA-I appoints Paresh Baruah as President of Supreme Council; changes in High Council too

GUWAHATI: The United Liberation Front of Asom - Independent (ULFA-I) has made a reformation to its constitutional infrastructure and appointed Chief Paresh Baruah as President of the Supreme Council.

"Effective from September 4, the Defense Department of ULFA-I will continue as earlier, the Constitutional infrastructure to be stopped and to continue as mentioned below after a unanimous decision taken by Central Executive Council," said ULFA-I.

Lieutenant General Michael Asom and Major General Nayan Asom were appointed as members of the Supreme Council as well.

For its High Council, Major General Nayan Asom was appointed as President as well along with Brigadier A Z Sironam Asom, Brigadier Arunudoy Asom and Retired Brigadier Samiran Asom as its members.
