GUWAHATI: Popular Assamese actress Barasha Rani Bishaya's second marriage to Jorhat's Bhaskar Baruah is now winning hearts across the state. The duo, who tied the nuptial knot on Monday, have been dazzling in picture-perfect attires which have gone viral on social media. However, there is more to this union than meets the eye.
Barasha, who was widowed after her former husband Avinash passed away, received immense support from her late husband's parents for her new voyage. Praise has been directed towards Barasha's former father-in-law Babul Saikia and mother-in-law Babli Saikia who welcomed and actively participated in the marriage. They even took part in some of the traditional rituals as a genuine gesture of kindness and love, setting a great example for society.

At a time when second marriages are still frowned upon in Assamese society, Barasha's decision to get re-married will perhaps set a great precedent for the coming generations.

The 'Ratnakar' actress today took to Facebook to thank everyone for doing their bit, especially her former in-laws. With the hullabaloo over the lavish wedding starting to die down, the actress today posted a few pictures, and wrote a caption that truly touched many hearts.
Barasha wrote: “An unconventional marriage. One father-in-law arranged the marriage of the daughter-in-law of his late son and her brother-in-law prepared akhoi (a traditional Assamese snack manufactured from paddy). I am not able to express my gratitude to them. I will remain grateful to my father-in-law Babul Saikia and mother-in-law Babli Saikia forever. Their greatness will remain an ideal in society. Dear Bonney, from now onwards you will always remain a brother to me. I am seeking all your blessings.”
