Unidentified miscreants fires indiscriminately at UPPL’s youth office in Kokrajhar; members escape unhurt

KOKRAJHAR: Unidentified miscreants resorted to indiscriminate firing at the youth office of United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) at Halangbazar in Kokrajhar district of Assam.

The incident took place last night at around 11.45 pm. At least 13 people were present inside the office when the incident took place.

However, all the people present in the office at the time of the incident escaped unhurt.

Initial investigation indicates towards the use of sophisticated weapons like AK-47 assault rifles. Several empty cartridges of AK-47 were recovered from the spot.

Police, including top officials, soon rushed to the spot on being informed and launched a manhunt to nab the culprits.

The miscreants however managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
