Veteran Actor Nipon Goswami Hospitalized after Slip-and-Fall Accident

Guwahati, June 12, 2019:

Veteran Actor of Assamese film industry Nipon Goswami has been admitted to Guwahati Neurological Research Centre (GNRC) Hospital following a leg injury which he suffered on Tuesday evening.

It is learnt that the actor slipped and fell on the floor of his bathroom floor and received an injury on his leg. After examining him, doctors declared that his injury is not too "serious".

Born in Tezpur, the 71-year-old thespian Nipon Goswami’s first movie is ‘Piyali Phukan’ directed by Phani Sarma in 1957. He played a role of a child actor in that movie. His debut film as a lead actor was ‘Sangram’and it was a hit in Assam. The next movie which made him super star was Dr. Bezbaruah released in 1969.

Since then, he has been acting in numerous Assamese movies in various roles.

Nipon Goswami has been also actively involved in mobile theatres like Abaahan, Kohinoor, Hengul, Shakuntala, etc. He also appeared in few small screen TV serials like 'Writu Aahe Writu Jaai' etc.
