Water Supply Scheme in Kokrajhar Shut for seven months

Kokrajhar (Assam), September 4, 2018:

Magurmari Water Supply Scheme in Mangramari village Kokrajhar district has remained shut for more than seven months due to the alleged negligence of the Public Health Engineering Department.

According to the locals every year the government sanctions multi crore for water supply schemes but not of the sanctioned money is ever used or utilized for the benefit of the people. The locals also alleged that because the government never utilizes the fund for the benefit of the people, the water supply scheme has become idle.

SN Deb, pump operator of the Mangumari Pump House said that the pump has been out of operations because the diesel supply is on the hold by the government.

Due to the closure of the water supply the locals of the area people are facing huge problems.
