Speaking to the media, police said, "Around 10 am, we have received information that a woman had been killed in Kumguri village. We rushed to the scene and found the deceased lying dead. She had sustained injuries in her head."

One of the villagers has revealed that the family of one Kartik, whose wife passed away last month is involved in the murder.

“Three of Kartik’s children keep falling sick. After the death of their mother, they started blaming the victim for practicing witchcraft. The family is behind the killing I suspect,” the villager added.
