"BJP supporters are nation-lovers, while we are being called traitors. We are now being accused of being Pakistani agents even by the BJP IT cell workers", the Veer Lachit Sena organizing secretary added, lamenting the branding of anti-CAA activists as "anti-nationals". "Even journalists are being attacked...we are being accused of killing democracy. But we love the nation more than the BJP does", he added.

The youth leader, lashing out at local BJP leader and Hiten Goswami for staying mum on the issue of the CAA, Chaliha expressed that the leader stands no chance of being re-elected. "He (Goswami) once took blows during the Assam Agitation. But now, the people of Jorhat will not vote for him again...they will not not make that mistake."
