Youth held for giving death threat to Himanta Biswa Sarma

The Assam Police has arrested a youth for giving death threat to Assam health and finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday night. The man has been identified as one Aktar Ali of Hajo. Aktar abused and threatened to kill Sarma through a Facebook post.

Later, presidents of Uttar Hajo and Hajo Mandal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) filed an FIR at Hajo Police Station against Aktar Ali. Soon after the FIR was registered, Hajo Police launched a search operation and the accused went into hiding.

As a result. Aktar Ali was arrested by Hajo Police and an investigation is underway.
