Assam: Alleged negligence by electricity department leads to death of labourer in Bongaigaon

In a tragic incident in Dolaigaon village, Bongaigaon district, a laborer lost his life due to alleged negligence by the electricity department. 

The deceased, identified as Mofidul Ali from Nasatra Abhayapuri, was working on 11,000 kV cables when a short circuit caused him to fall from the top of an electric pole.

Despite being rushed to the hospital immediately, Ali was declared dead on arrival. The accident, which occurred in the presence of Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) officials, has raised serious concerns about safety protocols and the department's responsibility. 

Witnesses claim that the incident resulted from a lack of proper precautions and oversight during the maintenance work.
