Assam: Axis bank employee held for swindling money from customer's account

Assam police have arrested an employee of Axis bank in Abhayapuri in connection with transferring money illegally to other account, police said on Monday.

According to police, Mofidul Islam an employee attached to Axis bank, Abhayapuri branch in Assam is the arrested person.

As per reports, Mofidul embezzled money by fraudulently transferring the money of one Balbar Hussain of Matraghola in Bongaigaon district to another account.

On the basis of the FIR lodged by Balbar Hussain, the police arrested Mofidul from Baraisla. 

Abhayapuri police registered a case no. 267/23 under section 420/379 under the Indian Penal Code and produced Asami before a judicial court. 

The incident of bank employees getting involved in cybercrime has created a sensation in the area.
