Adding an innovative touch to the tradition, the people of Saora are constructing a unique 'Helicopter Meji Bhelaghar' using straws. Their exceptional efforts have not gone unnoticed, as they were honored with awards from the district administration for their creativity and dedication.
A local from the village stated,” we're essentially showcasing the pride of Assamese culture, with a primary focus on 'bhela ghar' and our traditional village homes. We've been doing this for a long time, and we'll continue because it's crucial to keep our traditions alive and pass them on to the new generation.”
He further added ,”we manage to complete 8-10 bhela ghor in 5-10 days. Right now, we're working on building a 'ghar,' and after finishing one today, we plan to complete at least 10 more tomorrow. Additionally, we've taken a new step by building a helicopter for display, adding an innovative touch to our efforts.”
