The Dhubri District unit of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), the youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), held a protest demonstration at Panchmore in Dhubri town on Friday, demanding the immediate arrest of senior Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi in connection with the National Herald case.
Led by district BJYM president Biswajit Das, the protesters raised slogans against the Congress leadership, including chants such as “Sonia Gandhi Hoonchiyar” and “Rahul Gandhi Murdabad.” The demonstration drew a large number of BJYM activists, who attempted to burn effigies of the two Congress leaders as part of their protest. However, police personnel intervened to prevent the burning of the effigies, leading to a brief standoff at the site.

Speaking to the media, Biswajit Das accused Sonia and Rahul Gandhi of being involved in corruption and demanded swift legal action. “The people of the country want justice. We demand the immediate arrest of both Sonia and Rahul Gandhi,” Das stated.
The protest concluded peacefully amid tight police presence, though tensions briefly flared during the attempted effigy burning. No incidents of violence were reported.
