Assam's Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) government, under Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro's leadership will celebrate four years of governance defined by progress, peace, and development in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
The government has highlighted its focus on fostering a peaceful, environmentally sustainable, and technologically advanced Bodoland.
At the inauguration of a Rs 2 crore academy building at Kokrajhar Science College on Saturday, CEM Pramod Boro reflected on his administration’s journey since taking office in 2020.
He emphasised the establishment of sustainable peace, the drive towards creating a “Green Bodoland” and “Smart Bodoland,” and the government’s unwavering efforts to improve public welfare.
Addressing challenges faced during his tenure, Boro stated, “There were rumors, especially from the opposition, about the collapse of our government in its initial months. However, we stayed committed to building a peaceful and secure Bodoland and worked tirelessly for the welfare and development of the region.”
Over the past four years, the BTC government has prioritised environmental conservation, achieving significant milestones in preserving the region’s natural heritage. Two national parks—Raimana National Park and Siknajhar National Park—have played a pivotal role in these efforts, showcasing the government’s dedication to protecting biodiversity.
In addition to its green initiatives, the government has implemented innovative digital governance tools, including an E-office system. This platform has modernized the management of land records and streamlined departmental operations. The introduction of BTR schemes to monitor development projects has enhanced transparency and accountability in service delivery.
Boro further highlighted the government’s commitment to public safety and efficient administration. “We have built a stable and functional administration, prioritising the welfare of the common people,” he added.
The BTC government is commemorating its fourth anniversary with a two-day event on December 14 and 15, 2024. Themed “Regaining Sustainable Peace, Harmony, and Integrity,” the central celebration is being held in Bhergaon, Udalguri. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is attending as the chief guest on December 15.
This event marks a significant milestone for the BTC government, symbolising the progress achieved over the past four years and laying a strong foundation for the future of the BTR region.
As the BTC government celebrates its achievements, it remains focused on sustaining developmental initiatives, fostering harmony, and ensuring long-lasting peace and prosperity in the Bodoland Territorial Region.
