The vibrant spirit of Rongjali Bwisagu came alive with grandeur and enthusiasm at Bogajuli in Assam’s Tamulpur district, near the India-Bhutan border.
The celebration was organized under the leadership of Darranga Mela BTCLA constituency MCLA Bijit Gwra Narzary and featured a day-long series of colorful cultural events.
A special highlight of the event was the ceremonial observance of the traditional Bodo ritual "Bisukhe Khanai", a symbolic friendship bond. The ritual was conducted between Bijit Gwra Narzary, MCLA of the BTC from Assam, India and Kuelenga Norbu, a resident of Samdrup Jongkhar, Bhutan marking a gesture of unity and goodwill between the two neighboring regions.
The festival venue came alive with performances of traditional dances and the national anthem, as cultural troupes from various ethnic communities of the region showcased their rich heritage through songs and folk performances in traditional attire. The event not only celebrated Assam’s cultural diversity but also promoted a message of unity and harmony.

In a remarkable display of cross-border and inter-state camaraderie, dignitaries from neighboring Bhutan and Arunachal Pradesh, including the Singpho king, took part in the celebrations. Their participation in the cultural exchange reflected strong regional ties and mutual respect among communities.
As part of the program, a friendship initiative was also launched to strengthen people-to-people connections between the citizens of India and Bhutan.
Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary and Assam State BJP President and Member of Parliament Dilip Saikia attended the event. Both leaders extended warm greetings on the occasion of Rongali Bihu, Rongjali Bwisagu, and the Assamese New Year to the people of the region and the entire state.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries praised the spirit of cultural unity and emphasized the importance of preserving traditional festivals to promote social harmony and cultural pride.
The event concluded on a joyous note, delivering a powerful message of peace, friendship, and the celebration of shared heritage.
