The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on March 28 distributed solar lights to 74 poor people in the Hailakandi district of Assam under CRPF's Civic Action Programme, said an official.
As per the official, the solar lamps were distributed at the location of the delta company of CRPF's No. 147 Battalion at Kuchila in Hailakandi district to 74 people.
Y Nand Kishore Singh, the second-in-command of CRPF's 147 battalions, informed the media that in the coming days, efforts will be made to distribute better quality goods among the poor.
''On behalf of delta company of CRPF's No. 147 Battalion, we organised a Civic Action Programme. In this programme, solar lamps were distributed to 74 people at Kuchila area in Hailakandi district,'' said Singh while speaking to media on the occasion.
Singh further said that this is a step to strengthen the relations between paramilitary forces and the general public.
