Assam: Gold biscuits seized from Deoghar Weekly Express train at New Bongaigaon Railway station

In a significant operation conducted on October 8 at around 1:20 pm, the Government Railway Police (GRP) seized five gold biscuits from the Deoghar Weekly Express train at New Bongaigaon Railway Station. This seizure followed an alert operation that led to the apprehension of a trafficker and the identification of the supplier.

The gold biscuits, weighing a total of 580 grams, were confiscated from the trafficker, identified as Bipin Kumar, hailing from Bihar. The illegal gold was traced back to its source in Tripura's Agartala.

The operation was carried out under the leadership of Sanjiv Chaudhary, the Officer-in-Charge of New Bongaigaon GRP. 

Investigations are underway to uncover further details surrounding the illegal trafficking of gold and the individuals involved.
