A major accident was averted today, July 17 after a major fire broke out on the Gandhi Dham Express. The blaze was caused due to a mechanical fault within the train's braking system. The incident occurred near Majgaon, close to Bongaigaon, raising alarms among passengers and railway officials.
Prompt action by railway personnel ensured that the fire was quickly extinguished, preventing potential disaster.

In an earlier incident, In an unusual incident on Tuesday evening, the engine and a coach of the Kamrup Express train were detached between Lahowal and Chaulkhowa in Assam's Dibrugarh district. Sabyasachi De, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Northeast Frontier Railway, confirmed that the separation occurred without any injuries or casualties to passengers on board.
"The incident occurred between Lahowal and Chaulkhowa. Fortunately, there are no reports of injuries to any passengers," stated Sabyasachi De. Prompt action was taken by railway authorities, with the engine and coach swiftly reattached to the train. Following the reattachment, the Kamrup Express resumed its journey towards its destination.
