Assam: Major fire breaks out in Bongaigaon, 5 injured

A fire broke out at Abhayapuri in Bongaigaon district on March 10 night, as per sources. 

As per preliminary reports, five people were injured while three houses were gutted in the fire. 

The fire broke out at Vadaipara under Lengtisinga police station in Bongaigaon district. The houses of Abdul Karim, Subur Ali and Abdul Rahim of Bhadaipara were gutted in the fire.

After the explosion of the gas cylinder after a suspected electric short circuit, an atmosphere of panic was created in the area. However, the fire tenders managed to save a school from coming under the grip of the blaze. 

Local residents said assets worth around Rs 15 lakh belonging to three families were gutted in the fire.
