The Margherita Block Congress Committee hosted a large-scale felicitation event at the Margherita Congress Bhawan to honor Pradyut Bordoloi, the former Margherita MLA and two-term Nagaon MP. Bordoloi, a distinguished leader in the region, was joined by his wife, Rani Bordoloi, Assam Pradesh Congress Committee IT Cell Secretary Pratik Bordoloi, Tinsukia District Congress Committee President Jayanta Kalita, and other prominent Congress leaders.
The event began with a grand motorcycle rally starting at Powai Gate and concluding at Margherita Congress Bhawan. Over 100 motorbikes and vehicles accompanied Bordoloi in a spirited procession. Upon arrival, he was greeted with the traditional Adivasi Jhumur dance, embodying the cultural pride of the community.
In addition to the Margherita Block Congress Committee, the ceremony saw participation from various local Congress bodies, including the Margherita Assembly Youth Congress Committee, Margherita NSUI, Margherita Mahila Congress Committee, Margherita Sewa Dal, Congress Gorkha cell, and the Minority cell, alongside more than 100 other organizations from across Tinsukia district. Bordoloi received traditional Assamese honors, including the phoolam gamosha, Xarai, and Cheleng chador.

Addressing the media, Bordoloi reflected on his deep-rooted connection to Margherita, describing it as both his birthplace and workplace. He expressed heartfelt gratitude, recalling his journey as a four-time elected MLA and Cabinet Minister from Margherita. "The love and respect I’ve received from the people of Margherita are immeasurable," Bordoloi remarked.
Bordoloi also addressed the current state of the coal industry in Margherita, expressing concern over the impact of unregulated coal syndicates since Bhaskar Sharma’s election. He noted the precarious condition of Northeastern Coalfields, Coal India Ltd., underlining the urgent need for revitalization to protect local interests and livelihoods.
