A massive fire ravaged 12 commercial establishments in Gumra, Cachar, causing significant financial losses.
The inferno reportedly began in a tyre shop and rapidly engulfed adjacent shops, with flames spreading uncontrollably within moments.
Firefighters responded promptly, deploying multiple units to tackle the blaze. Despite their swift action, 10 shops were completely destroyed before the fire could be brought under control. After hours of rigorous efforts, the flames were finally extinguished.
Preliminary estimates place the damage at several crores of rupees. Authorities suspect that an electrical short circuit may have triggered the devastating fire, though investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause.
