In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, police in Sri Bhumi district, led by Superintendent of Police Partha Pratim Das, seized illegal drugs worth over Rs 1 crore and arrested three individuals. Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials raided the Patel Nagar area and uncovered 76,000 Yaba tablets hidden in secret compartments of two vehicles.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Hossain Ahmed and Abdullah Khair from Kalain in Cachar, and Nizam Uddin from Katigora. According to SP Das, the consignment was en route to Patharkandi for distribution.
The operation marks another major success in the fight against illegal drug networks in the region. Authorities are intensifying efforts to curb the trafficking menace.
