A severe fire ignited in a structure located in Silchar town, Assam's Cachar district on May 18.
A girl sustained injuries due to a fall from the building and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital.
The fire broke out at a computer coaching centre named IIT in four storeys of a building. The fire gutted all the belongings of the computer coaching centre. The fire came under control after several hours of effort by 20 fire engines.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire suddenly broke out at 11 a.m. at a computer coaching centre in the chari mahalia of a building in Shilangpatti in Silchar town. A panic situation prevailed in the area after the fire was witnessed. Students in the computer centre where the fire broke out were trapped inside Rome after the fire broke out.

Several students started jumping from the rooftops of the building to save their lives. Several students jumped into a nearby building and saved their lives while several other students escaped unhurt.
Five fire engines arrived at the scene.
The fire has been successfully extinguished, with cooling operations currently in progress.
