Amidst the persistent flood situation in Laonkhowa, a vegetable trader who went missing amidst the flood crisis, was recovered from Brahmaputra river.
The body of Singhbir Chettri, a vegetable trader from Budhachapri revenue village, was found in the river today.
Singhbir Chettri had been reported missing since Monday evening. He was last seen returning home from Tezpur, navigating his way through Laonkhowa, which has been heavily affected by the ongoing floods. The unchanging and severe flood conditions had made the search efforts particularly challenging.
Chettri’s disappearance had sparked concern among the villagers, especially given the treacherous state of the flooded areas.
