A heated situation unfolded in Assam's Samaguri after a group of student leaders and activists started protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on March 14.
A group of student leaders from various student unions and organisations holding placards, stepped out sloganeering against the government and expressing their resentment against the Act.
Protesters holding black flags began demonstrations against the CAA rules that were implemented on Monday, March 11.
A team of police after getting information of the agitation reached the spot and lowered the black flags hoisted by the student leaders.
Meanwhile, the state of Assam has been witnessing vigorous protest with All Assam Student Union (AASU) taking out a torch light rally in Guwahati.
Several student organisations and student leaders from different educational institutions took part in the torch light rally against the CAA implemented by the Central Government.
