To ensure safe and organized immersion of Durga idols, the Margherita Municipal Board has constructed special trolleys at the immersion site by the Buridehing River in Dehing Puria Gaon. This project, costing approximately Rs 4 lakh, aims to facilitate the immersion process and prevent any untoward incidents.
The designated trolleys will allow organizing committees to transport the idols to the immersion point, where they will be immersed following a specific set of last rites. Anand Kumar Sharma, Chairman of the Margherita Municipal Board, stated, “This system is designed to significantly reduce the risk of accidents during the immersion of the puja idols.”
As per the guidelines established by the board, all Durga idols must be immersed before sunset to ensure a smooth and safe process.
