Assam: Villagers in Ledo form human chain demanding for construction of bridge

Local residents of the Kamba village in Assam's Margherita today formed a human chain and held a protest while demanding for the construction of a connectivity bridge. 

The protest saw members of the Satra Mukti Sangram Samity Margherita Regional committee, Tirap Jagun Regional committee, Kamba Pochabil village and Hawai pathar local residents form a Human Chain at Kamba gaon in Ledo to protest against the long pending demand to construct a connectivity bridge.

Pappu Dutta, president of Satra Mukti Sangram Samity Central Committee, said that it is very unfortunate that after 75 years of independence, the residents of Ledo Kamba village are crossing a makeshift bridge while alleging that the present BJP led Government step motherly attitude shown towards the people of this area. 

Dutta also said that Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma and Dibrugarh MP and Union Minister Rameswar Teli are inefficient and Shameless person that is why they have failed to fulfill the assurance what they have delivered before the Assembly and MP Elections. 

"We have noticed that Margherita MLA Bhaskar Sharma during the last years as a MLA has never asked any questions at Assam Legislative Assembly regarding the burning problems faced by the people of 83 No Margherita Constituency which we Satra Mukti Sangram Samity and the local residents of this area demand that if before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, the Ledo Kamba gaon connectivity bridge doesn't get constructed than we shall boycott the elections and shall not cast our valuable votes," said Pappu Dutta.
