Wild elephants have been causing widespread damage across multiple areas of Morangi, Assam. While the elephants have destroyed homes, several crops have also been destroyed following herds of elephant entering residential areas.
The disturbances caused by the elephants have been particularly severe in Morangi Mouza, where homes have been destroyed. Herds of elephant have been observed roaming through rice fields. Additionally, these wild elephants have been grazing in fields and tea gardens, disrupting agricultural activities.
In one alarming incident last night, wild elephants destroyed a house. Meanwhile, in the Goranga fields, a herd of elephants has been wandering through the area, troubling local farmers.
Some of these elephants have displayed aggressive behavior, charging at people, likely provoked by the unruly actions of certain individuals. This ongoing provocation has led to heightened aggression among the wild elephants, further escalating the situation.
