Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is actively campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the lead-up to the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections, launched a scathing attack on the Congress, alleging their association with Maoists and rampant corruption.
Sarma said, "Who are the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)? CRPF are not Ambani's or Tata's son."
"CRPF are working tirelessly for the country and Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, is targeting the CRPF," Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
In a direct response to what he perceived as an unjust targeting of the CRPF, Sarma continued, "All the poor family's sons join CRPF, and Bhupesh Baghel is targeting the CRPF. That means Bhupesh Baghel is directly saying that he supports the Naxals."
Sarma did not stop there; he drew a connection between the Naxals' actions and the Congress's intentions, asserting that Naxals have been targeting BJP leaders in Chhattisgarh, and now the Congress party has set its sights on the CRPF, whose dedicated jawans are on the front lines fighting against the Naxals.
He questioned the motives behind the Congress's actions, asking, "When BJP leaders and Congress leaders were killed, Bhupesh Baghel should have taken revenge against the Naxals. It was during his tenure that the Congress leaders were killed, and it was his duty to finish the Naxals from the state. Now he is targeting CRPF."
Sarma accused the Congress of wanting to secure victory in the upcoming elections with the support of left-wing extremists. "I think this time the Congress does not want to win polls with the support of people. It wants to win with the support of Naxalites in interior areas. There is 'I love you' between the Congress and Naxalites. By threatening and murdering BJP workers, they want to do their politics," he claimed.
He further asserted that if the BJP comes to power in Chhattisgarh, they would work towards eradicating left-wing extremism within a year, drawing parallels with the successful scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. "You give us one year time in power in Chhattisgarh, and we will eliminate Naxalism like the way Article 370 was scrapped," Sarma confidently stated.
Sarma also accused Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel's government of openly permitting religious conversions, and he questioned whether Baghel aimed to eliminate Sanatana Dharma. He lamented the lack of legislation to prevent conversions and the alleged weakening of Hindu dharma under the Congress government.
However, the Assam Chief Minister's allegations didn't stop at politics. He linked a staggering financial controversy to religious sentiments, alleging that Bhupesh Baghel embezzled a massive sum of Rs 508 crore through the Mahadev betting app. "Bhupesh Baghel is soon going to become the guest of the government because of the Rs 508 crore he looted from the Mahadev App," Sarma declared.
Sarma did not stop at mere accusations of corruption but also emphasized the cultural and religious significance of the matter. He invoked the deities and Goddess Kamakhya, stating, "Congress has made Mother Kamakhya very angry by doing corruption in the name of Mahadev. Maa Kamakhya will not forgive such people." He added, "Today, Maa Kamakhya is crying when she knows that Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel looted money in the name of Mahadev through the Mahadev app."
