In a significant development ahead of the Assam Panchayat Elections scheduled for May 2 and 7, seven NDA candidates have been elected uncontested as Anchalik Panchayat Members in the 4 No. Boko Anchalik Panchayat.
This comes as several other candidates withdrew their nominations on the final day of withdrawal on Thursday.
Out of the total 11 Anchalik Panchayat seats under the 4 No. Boko Anchalik Panchayat, seven were won without contest by candidates from the BJP, AGP, and Rabha Hasong Jouth Mancha (RHJM), who are contesting the election as NDA allies with a pre-decided seat-sharing arrangement.
The uncontested winners include:
Bipul Rabha (BJP) – 39 No. Pachim Bekeli Gaon Panchayat
Apsara Rabha (RHJM) – 34 No. Pub Luki Gaon Panchayat
Surbhi Rabha (RHJM) – 41 No. Dakin Pachim Luki Gaon Panchayat
