NEW DELHI: Despite being the fastest country to administer 100 million vaccination mark in 85 days, India today detected over 1.52 lakh COVID-19 incidents, bringing the country's total to over 1.33 crore.

The COVID-19  disease has claimed the lives of 839 people in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people infected in the country to 1,69,275.

The number of active cases has surpassed 10,000 for the first time in nearly six months, and the country has seen 839 more deaths in a single day, the most since October 18 of last year.

The total number of COVID-19 cases registered in India is 1,52,879. According to the Union Health Ministry, India has seen 90,584 discharges in the last 24 hours. India's COVID-19 caseload has risen to 1,33,58,805 with the present number of cases.

Currently, there are 11,08,087 active cases in India.

The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country is 10,12,84,282, according to the ministry's preliminary report, with a total of 29,65,886 vaccine doses issued until 8 pm on Saturday.

It took 15,17,260 sessions and 90,03,060 healthcare staff to accomplish it.
