10 Hill States Sign Historic 'Mussoorie Resolution' to Conserve Ecosystem

Mussoorie, July 28, 2019:

A one-day Himalayan conclave was held in Mussoorie on Sunday, which was attended by dignitaries from 10 hill states in the country.

The conclave passed a Mussoorie resolution and deliberates on issues like the conservation of Himalayan ecology, bio-diversity and cultural heritage.

The deliberations will focus on sustainable development of the Himalayan states, rivers, glaciers, etc.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma shared concerns of the dual challenge of the Himalayan States for doubling economy and striking balance of the ecology. "It is imperative that all the Himalayan States comes together to push the agenda of growth and development", he said.

The Chief Minister also took to Twitter to express his thoughts after signing the historic 'Resolution'. He wrote: "At the daylong Conclave of the Himalayan State, including representatives of the 10 hill States came together to sign the historic
