Guwahati, May 7, 2019:

Air Commodore Venkat T Mare has taken over the charge of Air Force Station Borjhar, Guwahati.

The Air Commodore is an aluminus of National Defence  Academy, Khadakwasla.

He was commissioned in the Flying Branch of Indian Air Force as Helicopter Pilot in June, 1990. The Officer is an experienced Helicopter Pilot with 6000 flying hours and has extensively flown in Northeast as well as Jammu & Kashmir sector in various operational roles.

He has undergone Staff Course at Defence Service Staff College, Wellington and Higher Command Course at Army War College, Mhow.

Air Commodore Mare has previously Commanded an Operational Helicopter Unit in Northeast and an Air Force Station in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The officer has also served in United Nations Missions in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
