Guwahati, May 24, 2019:

General Bipin Rawat, (PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, ADC) Chief of Army Staff visited Assam and Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday.

General Bipin Rawat was received by General Officer Commanding Dao Division at Chabua.

During his visit the Army Chief reviewed the security situation in Upper Assam and Eastern Arunachal Pradesh.

The General Officer expressed satisfaction over the commitment and preparedness of the Army and complimented all ranks for their sustained hard work, professionalism, and devotion to duty in the conduct of people friendly operations in difficult operational conditions.

It is to be mentioned that the Chief of Army Staff visited the Brahmastra Corps on May 9 which was the first visit by Bipin Rawat to the formation in its new location at Panagarh subsequent to its permanent move in March this year.The visit was aimed at reviewing the operational preparedness and the progress of restructuring of this strategically important formation.

During the visit, the General Officer Commanding Brahmastra Corps briefed the COAS and Army Commander on the various issues concerning operational preparedness of the formation. He complimented the formation of its successful relocation and high standards of professionalism. The COAS during his interaction with troops complimented them on their high standards of morale, discipline, and training and exhorted All Ranks to uphold the true traditions of Indian Army and wished them success in all their future endeavours
